Profile Budpac is New Zealand’s leading board based packaging supplier, with products available such as MDF, Particle Board, Triboard and Plywood. Budpac employs approx 35 staff across NZ, with major plants in Auckland, Nelson & Christchurch. Budpac specialises in shelving, bearers, coversheets, export crates/pallets and all other relevant products for the rigid protective packaging market; all cut to size. Structure Budpac is a family business made up of 4 branches. Each branch has its own manager who is accountable for profits and value delivered by their business. Two of the four branches are based at the raw material source, with the other 2 branches closely located to the major export centers within NZ. This enables Budpac Ashley & Budpac Nelson to process raw material at its onsite plants and deliver cost effective products to our customers via our market based plants (Budpac Auckland and Budpac Christchurch), on time, every time. History Budget Packaging was originally established in 1988 in Kumeu, Auckland; for the express purpose of providing the manufacturer of board products with a means for the disposing of downgrade product. Budget Packaging achieved this by producing inexpensive solid packaging components, cut to size. Fletcher Wood Panels was an integral part of the formation of Budget Packaging, and in 1995 the company was expanded to include manufacturing packaging for a large number of the Fletcher Wood Panels branches. This ongoing relationship with the major NZ board producers grew again in 1998, to include a South Island Operation which was established to supply the requirements of Carter Holt Harvey's MDF plant in Ashley, Rangiora. Budget Packaging was initially owned by
Kevin & Brett Tallentire, a father/son business. In the last 15 years,
Budget Packaging has grown into one of the largest and most successful
board based packaging suppliers in NZ, boasting a large and diverse client
base nationwide. |
