Originally established in 1988 in Kumeū, Auckland, BUDPAC SI Limited began as Budget Packaging. The company recognised an opportunity to support New Zealand’s board manufacturers by repurposing downgraded products, leading to the production of cost-effective MDF timber packaging components and industrial-grade MDF material and products.
In 2012, BUDPAC sold its Kumeū operation and rebranded as BUDPAC South Island Ltd. Since then, we’ve secured ongoing supply agreements with New Zealand’s leading Medium Density Fibreboard manufacturers, ensuring consistent access to high-quality MDF boards.
Today, BUDPAC operates alongside Daiken NZ Ltd, the country’s foremost MDF producer and maker of the well-known CUSTOMWOOD® brand. This partnership provides us with direct access to long-length MDF panels rarely found elsewhere in the market. We also source from Daiken Southland and Nelson Pine Industries, maintaining a strong, nationwide supply chain.
